The Dahon K3+ has always been a very popular folding bike model, and they have recently been actively introducing new versions with various updates. Among them, the 305 and 349 wheel size versions have both introduced new colors and made some modifications.

Let's take a closer look at the details of these new versions.

New Colors for the Dahon K3+ Versions

The new versions of the Dahon K3+ have first introduced two new colors: a vibrant yellow and a black and white color scheme. The overall frame design has carried over the optimizations from the previous version, including the telescopic stem, the fold-in design, and the front and rear 140mm disc brakes. The front chainring remains at 55T, while the rear cassette is now a 9-speed 11-28T.

Three Major Updates in the Dahon K3+ New Versions

Accessories

The first noticeable change is the improvement in the accessories, especially the grip design. Previously, a foam grip was used, and this version has continued with the same design, but now with an additional locking mechanism to prevent the grips from accidentally popping out.

Frame Design

The second obvious change is in the frame design, where they have incorporated Dahon's signature monocoque design, making the frame more prominent and enhancing the light effect. Additionally, due to the monocoque design, the cable routing has also been altered, transitioning from the previous internal routing to now following the monocoque lines towards the rear. I greatly appreciate this change, as the exposed cables now run along the monocoque lines, encased in a smooth rubber tube that extends all the way to the rear, giving the overall appearance a cleaner and more organized look.

Rear Section

Furthermore, the rear section previously appeared somewhat cluttered due to the internal cable routing. However, with the new routing design, the cables now return to the rear along the monocoque lines, making the routing much smoother. Additionally, they have used two aluminum alloy welded points to secure a cable, rather than the previous method of using cable ties.

Striking New Colors

The two new color options are both very eye-catching.

vibrant yellow

The first is the vibrant yellow, which uses a matte finish. The front half is a bright yellow that gradually transitions to orange, while the rear half of the frame is black. The rear fender is also in a yellow color, complemented by orange and black patterns, further enhancing the dynamic and striking appearance.

White

The other color option is the white, which uses a glossy finish. The front half is a pure white that gradually transitions to gray, and finally becomes completely black. Similar to the yellow, the rear fender also features a combination of black, white, and gray, accentuating the overall design.

These color choices make the Dahon K3+ even more appealing, and each color option has a unique gradient effect and fender design to complement the frame appearance.

Dahon K3+349 - Eye-catching Moss Green Frame with Luxurious Gold Logo

Colors

Many owners opt for a larger 349 wheel set when replacing the wheels.

To cater to this demand, Dahon has introduced this version, called the K3+349. The earliest version introduced was the mini 349, a special edition to celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary.

In addition to the previous black frame version, there is now also a moss green version. This moss green version is equally stylish.

Frame Design

The entire frame continues the signature waistline design that Dahon has been proud of in recent years.

The wheel set uses the 349-size SkinWall tires, the same as the K3+.

It is equipped with a 55T hollow large chainring in the front and a 9-speed 11-28T cassette, with the entire drivetrain being Dahon-branded and using a disc brake design, with 140mm rotors front and rear.

The wave-shaped lines along the waistline extend to the rear, slightly different from the new version of the K3+. The cable routing on the K3+349 uses a one-by-one wrapped style, which looks clean and elegant. However, unlike the new K3+, the smoothness and softness of the wrapping are different. In the future, I look forward to it being upgraded with new materials.

Pedal Design

Another feature of the K3+349 is the pedal design. The pedals on the regular K3+ are the standard non-folding Wellgo pedals, but the 349 version uses the foldable Wellgo pedals, which is a point to note.

Sincere Colors

Furthermore, in terms of colors, Dahon has put in a lot of sincerity. The moss green frame itself has a sparkling effect, while Dahon's logo is in a glossy gold color, with some green reflective accents added in the middle, making the entire bike shimmer and have a slightly matte texture.

In addition to the Dahon K3+349, Dahon also has other folding bike models as well as folding bikes from other brands available.
