Scultura Endurance — Carbon Endurance Road Bike
The Scultura Endurance 4000 is far from being a conventional entry-level carbon bike. Featuring the same test and award-winning CF3 carbon frame as its 'bigger brothers', it comes equipped with the reliable Shimano 105 groupset that offers accurate shifting and precise braking. The well-proven WIRE PORT cable management system keeps the cockpit free of cables and gives the bike a super sleek overall appearance.
An instant hit with the international cycling press since launch, the Scultura Endurance was given a 'comfort' award by RennRad and a long list of compliments like 'excellent comfort', 'confidence inspiring', 'lively feel' and 'enjoyable' from reference cycling media such as Gran Fondo, Cyclingnews, Cyclingtips and Road.cc. Compared to its namesake, the race-geometry Scultura, the Endurance has a more comfort-orientated geometry, plenty of tyre clearance and seamless integration of the latest standards. It sits between the road-biased Scultura on one side and the gravel/adventure Silex on the other. Wide tyres offer plenty of comfort, even on the most pothole-littered country lanes, while a longer head tube provides a more relaxed riding position — the perfect choice for riders who want to enjoy long hours in the saddle while staying comfortable and relaxed.
Key features
WIRE PORT internal routing
All control cables enter the frame through a specially shaped headset cover, keeping the cockpit clean and the cables protected from the elements — while also contributing to a lighter, stiffer and more aerodynamic frame.
Disc Cooler
A finned piece of forged aluminium sits between the brake calliper and frame, drawing heat away from the braking system. It reduces temperatures by up to 35%, keeping your brakes working at their best on long descents and under heavy braking.
Nano Matrix Carbon
Extremely tiny, nano-scale particles are added to the resin that binds the carbon fibres together, protecting them from damage at a molecular level. This can increase the carbon fibre's impact resistance by up to 40%, for a stronger, lighter frame.
Removable F-Mount
A removable mount at the seat stay bridge lets you fit full mudguards for wet-weather protection, or remove them completely for extra tyre clearance and a cleaner look when guards aren't needed.
Di2 Ready
The frame is designed to accommodate the electrical cable, battery and other small details required for Shimano's Di2 electronic shifting system, so you can upgrade later without extra machining.

Want to compare other Merida road bikes?
From the same Scultura Endurance range with an electronic groupset, the Merida Scultura Endurance 6000 2024 105 Di2 uses the same SCULTURA ENDURANCE CF3 II carbon frame and endurance geometry, upgraded to Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting.
Prefer the lower, more aggressive race geometry of the Scultura family instead of endurance geometry? See the same-generation, same-groupset Merida Scultura 4000 2024 105. Want to compare aero race bikes from other brands? Jollymap also carries the Merida Reacto 5000 Gen 5 105 Di2.

FAQ
What's the difference between the Scultura Endurance and the (non-Endurance) Scultura?
Both are Merida road bike ranges, but with different geometries. The Scultura is a race-geometry bike, lower and more aggressive for speed and competition. The Scultura Endurance uses a more relaxed endurance geometry, a taller head tube and more tyre clearance, built for long-distance comfort. Jollymap also carries the Merida Scultura 4000 if you'd like to compare the two directly.
What size should I get?
Merida uses its own SmartFit body-measurement calculator rather than a simple height chart. We recommend comparing the reach and stack figures above against a bike that already fits you well, and booking a Jollymap Bike Fit session to confirm before you buy, especially if you're between two sizes.
How much does this bike weigh?
Merida hasn't published a weight for this exact build. Newer model years (12-speed) list an approximate complete bike weight of 9.4 kg for size M — this is for reference only, and the actual weight may differ; we recommend having your bike shop weigh the actual unit for an accurate figure.
Is the Shimano 105 groupset mechanical or electronic (Di2)?
This 4000 version uses Shimano 105 11-speed mechanical shifting. If you want electronic Di2 shifting, consider the Scultura Endurance 6000 105 Di2 from the same range. The frame itself is Di2 Ready, so upgrading later doesn't require extra machining — please contact us before ordering for the parts and labour needed for a Di2 upgrade.
What's the maximum tyre size?
The frame and fork are officially rated for up to 35mm tyre clearance; this drops to 32mm if you fit fenders. It ships with 700x32C tyres, so there's still some room to size up for extra comfort or grip on Hong Kong's rough road surfaces.
How do disc brakes hold up in Hong Kong's hot, humid weather?
Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes give more consistent stopping power in sudden rain than rim brakes, which suits Hong Kong's summer weather, and the frame's Disc Cooler helps maintain braking performance on long descents. As with any hydraulic system, we recommend a periodic brake fluid and pad check.
Is this bike suitable for beginners?
The Scultura Endurance's relaxed geometry, taller head tube and generous tyre clearance make it easier to live with than a pure race-geometry road bike, which suits riders new to road cycling or those focused on long, leisurely rides. If this is your first road bike, we recommend a Jollymap Bike Fit session to confirm sizing and riding position.
