Rear brake and rear shift share one lever
ST-U6030-R puts the rear brake and the rear shift on the right hand. It is not a cable shifter. It will not run a rim brake or a cable disc caliper. The cable right lever is ST-U3030-10R.

The specification lists a maximum of 2 multiple shifts on the main rear lever. The inner-cable row marks OPTISLICK and also lists steel; the lever-side outer casing is OT-SP41. That is the specified cable, not a promise that a full new cable is in the box.
The same 2-piston flat-mount layout as the front
Shimano describes this flat-mount brake as an integrated design for a 160 mm rotor, with a 2-piston body. The rear caliper is marked for 160 mm and 180 mm only. Fluid is Shimano mineral oil. The caliper has ONE WAY BLEEDING and the lever has funnel bleeding. The kit hose is SM-BH59-JK-SSR, black, straight joint. Hose length is not in the table.
Sold as a J-kit rear set
The distributor’s English name for this code is a J-kit rear assembled set, and the official caliper table also marks J-kit for OEM. If the hose has to be shortened or replaced, contact us before ordering.

Is this rear brake 10-speed, or 11-speed only?
Shimano lists it as 11/10-speed and notes LINKGLIDE 11/10-speed compatibility. For a 10-speed cassette, see CS-LG400-10 11-48T.
What fluid is used to bleed it?
Shimano mineral oil. Do not use DOT brake fluid. The lever supports funnel bleeding and the caliper has ONE WAY BLEEDING.
Will it take a 203 mm rear rotor?
No. BR-U6030-R is marked for 160 mm and 180 mm only.
Can the cable lever ST-U3030-10R run this caliper?
No. ST-U3030-10R is a NEW SUPER SLR cable lever. BR-U6030-R needs a hydraulic lever. Shimano’s recommended list includes ST-U6030.
