On a long road ride the helmet has to stay put, and the heat has to get out. The Giro Agilis MIPS builds integrated Mips into the Roc Loc 5 cradle, so one rear dial sets the tension and the fore-aft tilt, and an angled impact meets a layer meant to reduce rotational force.

Integrated Mips: less rotational force in an angled impact

Giro's product page says the helmet is built to manage impact energy and meet safety standards. The aim of the integrated Mips layer is to reduce rotational force that may reach the brain in certain angled impacts. On this helmet the layer sits in the Roc Loc 5 system, rather than as a separate thick pad.

Roc Loc 5: tension and tilt in one hand

One dial at the rear tightens or loosens the cradle and tips the helmet slightly forward or back. Giro suggests putting it on with the fit system loose, low enough to cover the forehead without blocking your view, then tightening.

Wind Tunnel: moving heat off the scalp

Intake ports in the shell meet channels inside the helmet. Moving air crosses the head and warm air leaves at the rear. The current official page does not list a vent count.

In-Mold shell: a wrapped lower edge without extra bulk

The shell is two pieces. A tough upper shell and a polycarbonate lower shell are fused to the EPS liner in Giro's In-Mold process. The lower wrap covers the edge so everyday knocks are less likely to chip it, without making the helmet bulky.

How do I choose a size?

Measure level around your head. 51–55 cm is S, 55–59 cm is M, and 59–63 cm is L. Put it on with the dial loose, cover the forehead, then tighten.

Can I keep wearing it after a crash?

No. Stop using a helmet that has taken an impact. Contact us and describe where it was hit before you decide on a replacement.
