Two young riders on copper Micro Suspension 200mm scooters gliding along a pavement outside a building

The Micro Suspension 200mm is an adult two-wheel kick scooter from Swiss brand Micro with suspension at both the front and rear wheels, paired with 200 mm wheels to soak up vibration and bumps on rough surfaces. Micro rates it for adults, with a 100 kg maximum load; it weighs 6.1 kg, has an 84-106 cm handlebar and folds.

What Problem Does It Solve?

City pavements are full of paving slabs, cracks and joints, and an ordinary scooter shakes and rattles over them, which gets tiring on longer rides. The Micro Suspension combines front and rear suspension; Micro says it tackles even the roughest road surfaces for a smoother commute, and the front suspension gives the front wheel more grip.

Who Is It For?

Micro rates the Suspension for adults up to 100 kg. Its 84-106 cm handlebar is higher than the 73-102 cm of the Flex and Classic, so it suits taller adults. Teens, or riders who want a lower handlebar, can compare the Micro Flex 200mm Scooter (73-102 cm, ages 12+); if you mainly ride on smooth surfaces and want something lighter, look at the 4.7 kg MICRO 200mm Big wheels Scooter.

Front and rear suspension

Suspension at the front fork gives the front wheel more grip on uneven ground, and the additional rear suspension, Micro says, keeps the ride smooth on bumpy roads. Together they cut the vibration reaching your hands and feet.

Extended deck for a comfortable stance

The aluminium deck is 14 cm wide and 35 cm long; Micro calls it an extended deck that gives your feet more room for a comfortable ride.

200 mm wheels, fender and kickstand

200 mm polyurethane (PU) wheels, 83° Shore A, with a fender. The kickstand folds away to the front or rear, and Micro's patented folding mechanism brings it down to 85 x 40 x 31 cm. A plastic guide inside the handlebar tube makes height adjustment smooth and stops the aluminium tubes rubbing or seizing.

Jollymap Recommendation

If your daily route has lots of paving or poor surfaces, or you ride longer distances, the Suspension's front and rear suspension is the more comfortable choice; if your roads are mostly smooth and you often carry the scooter up stairs, the lighter Flex or Classic is more convenient. Always wear a properly fitted helmet. Not sure which one suits the rider's height and route? Before ordering, chat with us or message our Facebook page.

FAQ

Is the Micro Suspension scooter suitable for adults?

Yes. Micro rates the Suspension for adults, with a 100 kg maximum load and a handlebar that extends to 106 cm.

How much does the Micro Suspension weigh?

6.1 kg, according to Micro's official product page. That is about 1 kg more than the Micro Flex 200mm (5.1 kg), which also has 200 mm wheels.

Does the Micro Suspension fold, and how big is it folded?

Yes. It uses Micro's patented folding mechanism and measures 85 x 40 x 31 cm folded; the kickstand folds away to the front or rear.

How is a suspension scooter different from a regular scooter?

The Micro Suspension has suspension at both the front and rear wheels, which reduces vibration and bumps on rough surfaces, and the front suspension improves front-wheel grip. A model without suspension, such as the MICRO 200mm Big wheels Scooter, also has 200 mm wheels and weighs 4.7 kg, about 1.4 kg less than the Suspension; Micro recommends it for asphalt.

What colours does the Micro Suspension come in?

Jollymap offers it in Copper and Black. Micro's global website currently lists Black, Bordeaux and Midnight Blue, all with the same official specifications.

Do I need a helmet to ride a scooter?

We recommend it. Wear a properly fitted helmet every time you ride; knee and elbow pads also help reduce scrapes from falls.

Where can I buy the Micro Suspension scooter in Hong Kong?

It is available from the Jollymap online shop and store. To confirm colours before ordering, chat with us on the shop or message our Facebook page.
