Last updated: 8 October 2026 (rewritten as a Hasa road bike review, with brand background, pros and cons, the Coraggio 2025 range and new charts)

Hasa road bikes come from Taiwan: the brand belongs to Heng Feng Bicycle Company of Kaohsiung, which set up the HASA brand when it was founded in 1990. Its selling point is a carbon frame with a full Shimano 105 groupset at a lower price. The RS1 and RS2 covered in the original article are no longer sold by Jollymap; the current Coraggio 2025 range starts at HK$12,900 in our shop.

This post was first written from Jason's December 2023 video on the RS1 and RS2. In October 2026 we rewrote it around what readers actually search for: where Hasa is from, its strengths and weaknesses, RS1/RS2 specs and weights, and what to buy now.

Key points

  • Brand: HASA is the in-house brand of Heng Feng Bicycle, founded in 1990 and based in Gangshan, Kaohsiung, according to its website.
  • Strength: the Coraggio 2025 pairs a T800 carbon frame with Shimano 105 12-speed for HK$12,900, HK$3,400 less than the carbon, 105 12-speed Giant Defy Advanced 2 (HK$16,300) in our shop.
  • Weakness: HASA's claimed weight for the Coraggio is 8.7–8.94 kg, and there are few independent reviews in Hong Kong.
  • RS1/RS2: Jason weighed the RS2 (XS) at about 8.25 kg and the RS1 (S) at about 8.6 kg in 2023; Jollymap no longer sells either.

Where is Hasa from, and is it a reliable brand?

Hasa is Taiwanese. HASA's company profile says Heng Feng Bicycle was founded in 1990 and created its own HASA brand, developing and making titanium, carbon and aluminium frames; the address on its website is in Gangshan District, Kaohsiung. The company also distributes Boreas wheels, Fizik and Reynolds in Taiwan, and the Coraggio's alloy wheels and integrated bar are Boreas parts.

In the 2023 video Jason points out that Hasa designs and assembles its own frames rather than simply putting a logo on someone else's bike. Its exhibition list shows it at Taipei Cycle every year from 2023 to 2026, and at Eurobike in the mid-2000s.

Our old article said Hasa sponsors a UCI team. We checked again: ProCyclingStats lists Hasa as the bike supplier of the Dominican UCI Continental team Inteja Imca Ridea DCT in 2019; the team is listed on Finnale bikes in 2018, and from 2021 ProCyclingStats gives no bike brand, so we could not confirm whether Hasa still works with the team.

What are Hasa road bikes good at?

Value for the parts. At our shop prices on 8 October 2026, the HASA Coraggio 2025 105 has a T800 carbon frame and Shimano 105 2×12-speed for HK$12,900. The Cannondale CAAD13 105 (HK$18,500) and Trek Émonda ALR 5 (HK$20,800) both use aluminium frames with 105 11-speed. The Giant 2025 Defy Advanced 2, also a carbon frame with Shimano 105 12-speed, is HK$16,300, so the Coraggio is HK$3,400 cheaper; the Defy has endurance geometry and Giant lists it at 8.65 kg in size S, lighter than HASA's Coraggio figures. The bigger brands have their own advantages, such as wider recognition and more reviews, so price is only part of the picture.

Chart: Shimano 105 bikes by shop price: HASA Coraggio 105 HK$12,900 and Giant Defy Advanced 2 HK$16,300, both carbon with 105 12-speed; Cannondale CAAD13 105 HK$18,500 and Trek Émonda ALR 5 HK$20,800, both aluminium with 105 11-speed

Jason also highlights that Hasa fits a full 105 groupset, including chainset, cassette and brakes, rather than only the shifters and derailleurs. He describes an asymmetric frame with a thicker drive-side chainstay and a bottom bracket shifted slightly to the right, a design carried from the RS1 to the Coraggio, and says the frames are painted in Taiwan with German paint and a thick protective clear coat. These points come from the brand and Jason; we have not tested them independently.

What are the downsides?

Weight is the main one. HASA lists the four Coraggio 2025 versions at 8.7–8.94 kg (no frame size given), against 6.9–7.3 kg (size M) for its T1100 carbon Deroma. Jason weighed a small Coraggio demo bike at about 8.4 kg in his 2025 video.

The integrated carbon bar keeps all cables hidden, but changing bar width or stem length later means replacing the whole cockpit, so check your size and fit first. (In his Coraggio video Jason mentions the extra labour of fitting an integrated bar to another bike, refitting shifters and re-bleeding brakes, as a reason the Coraggio, which comes with one, is good value; he was not criticising it.) Hasa is also less known in Hong Kong than Giant or Merida, and in October 2026 we could not find a full Coraggio review from an established cycling publication. Finally, early Coraggio stock arrived in pre-order batches, so please check delivery time for your colour and size before ordering.

Hasa RS1 and RS2: specs and weights (no longer sold by Jollymap)

The RS1 and RS2 were the popular models Jason reviewed in 2023. Jollymap no longer sells them. HASA's current road range page does not list them either, but HASA has not announced whether they are discontinued. The table is for owners and second-hand buyers.

  RS2 RS1
Frame Carbon (Toray T800, per Jason) Carbon, same geometry as RS2

Buying a Hasa now: which Coraggio 2025?

Jason calls the Coraggio the successor to the RS1. All four versions share a T800 carbon frame, full carbon fork, Boreas integrated carbon bar and Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes; they differ in shifting (mechanical or Di2) and wheels (Boreas alloy or Crociera carbon). HASA offers sizes XS to XL in gloss black, gloss white and sky blue.

Coraggio 105 mechanical: a carbon frame on a budget

For a first carbon road bike at around HK$13,000. In his Hasa Coraggio video (in Cantonese), Jason added up the parts for the carbon-wheel version (HK$13,580 in our shop): about HK$5,000-plus for the Shimano 105 groupset, HK$5,000-plus for carbon wheels, over HK$1,000 for the integrated carbon bar and HK$1,000–2,000 for tyres and other parts, so more than HK$14,000 before the frame, which he said made the carbon frame "basically free". That was his estimate in January 2025, and parts prices change. Mechanical shifting is simple to maintain, and the carbon-wheel version adds only HK$680. Limitation: at close to 9 kg it is heavier than lighter bikes at this price, which you will notice on long climbs.

Coraggio 105 Di2: electronic shifting

Push-button shifting that is quick and precise, at HK$16,980 with alloy wheels or HK$17,980 with carbon. Limitation: it costs over HK$4,000 more than the mechanical bike and the battery needs charging.

If weight matters more than price, Hasa's T1100 carbon HASA Deroma 2025 Ultegra Di2 with carbon wheels was HK$27,900 at the time of writing, with only one black L and one red XS left.

A Hasa for kids: the RTS1 700c road bike

The HASA RTS1 2x9 Speed Kids 700c Road Bike has a 6061 aluminium frame, adult-size 700c wheels, 152 mm cranks and SENSAH 2×9 gearing. Our product data gives about 9.6 kg without pedals and we suggest a rider height of about 130 cm or more. It was HK$4,290 at the time of writing, in gloss white and matt black.

In his HASA RTS 1 video (in Cantonese), Jason explains why: even the smallest adult 700c frames generally need a rider of about 150 cm, while the RTS1 is about 62 cm from saddle to pedal centre, which he reckons a 130 cm child can handle.

Limitation: one size only, with caliper brakes, so it does not suit children under about 130 cm or those still learning to ride. More detail in our HASA RTS 1 kids' road bike article.

FAQ

Which country is Hasa from?

Hasa is a Taiwanese brand owned by Heng Feng Bicycle Company, founded in 1990 and based in Kaohsiung according to HASA's website. It develops and makes titanium, carbon and aluminium frames.

How much does the Hasa RS1 weigh?

Jason weighed the Hasa RS1 (size S) at about 8.6 kg and the RS2 (size XS) at about 8.25 kg in 2023, without saying whether pedals were fitted. Jollymap no longer sells either model.

What are the Hasa Coraggio's weaknesses?

The Hasa Coraggio's main weakness is weight: HASA claims 8.7–8.94 kg, roughly 1.4 to 2 kg more than its Deroma. The integrated bar also makes fit changes more costly, and there are fewer independent reviews than for the big brands.
