The DAHON LUNDEN 16" 349 (CUC673) is Dahon's first tri-fold bike, the one Hong Kong riders call a "Chinese Brompton": a chromoly steel frame, 7 speeds and a folded size of just 65 x 35 x 64 cm (L x W x H). The frame design draws on the classic British Brompton, then adds Dahon's remote-control suspension and a handlebar that adjusts in height and angle, making it a fit for riders who want a compact tri-fold but a more comfortable ride that the whole family can share.

What Problem Does It Solve?
Tri-fold bikes fold very small, which suits Hong Kong homes and commutes, but most traditional tri-folds have a fixed handlebar height, so families sharing one bike often have to pay for extra parts. Small wheels can also feel harsh on gravel or brick-paved streets. The Lunden keeps the compact tri-fold, then adds an adjustable handlebar and remote suspension so riders of different heights can find a comfortable position and switch on the suspension when the road gets rough.
Who Is It For?
The Lunden suits commuters who fold the bike onto the MTR or keep it at the office every day, riders with limited space at home or in the car boot, fans of retro steel frames, and families with riders of different heights sharing one bike.
Worth noting: at about 13 kg it is heavier than some 16-inch aluminium folders, so compare the other 16-inch models below if you often carry the bike up stairs. A kickstand is not included.
Retro chromoly steel frame
The Lunden uses a chromoly (Cr-Mo) steel frame. In Jollymap's review, the steel frame gives a "springy" feel that soaks up vibration, handling Hong Kong's gravel paths and brick-paved streets well. Glitter-flake paint and a metal head badge give it a strong retro look. Dahon's patented Deltec cable on the frame adds stiffness and keeps the cables tidy. Dahon's press release also notes that the 16-inch Lunden frame combines DELTECH and Super Down Tube designs to strengthen the structure and improve power transfer.
Handlebar adjustable in height and angle: one bike, many riders
- Adjustable height: fits riders of different heights without buying extra parts
- Adjustable angle: fine-tune your riding position
- Folds without scratching: Jollymap's review notes that the frame is not scratched when folding after adjustment
Dahon patented remote-control suspension
A remote switch on the handlebar lets you change the suspension between soft and firm with one hand while riding, with no need to stop:
- Rough roads: switch the suspension on to absorb vibration
- Smooth roads: lock it out so less pedalling effort is absorbed and you accelerate more efficiently
One switch gives you both comfort and speed.

FAQ
How much does the Dahon Lunden weigh?
Dahon's official weight is about 13.15 kg; in Jollymap's review the complete bike weighed about 13 kg with rack, mudguards and pedals.
How big is the Dahon Lunden folded, and can I take it on the MTR?
By the official folded size, it is within the MTR luggage limit. The Lunden folds to L65 x H64 x W35 cm, about 164 cm in total; MTR rules say luggage must not exceed 170 cm in length, width and height combined, with no side over 130 cm. Dahon does not state whether this size includes the pedals. On franchised buses, Regulation 14 of the Public Bus Services Regulations (Cap. 230A) only allows free carriage of items up to 5 kg and 0.1 cubic metres, which a folding bike usually exceeds.
What is the difference between the Dahon Lunden and a Brompton?
The Lunden's tri-fold design draws on the Brompton, and it uses the same caliper brake type as the Brompton C Line. The differences are that the Lunden's handlebar adjusts in height and angle, and it adds Dahon's patented remote-control suspension that you switch from the bars (source: Jollymap review video).
How does the Dahon Lunden's remote suspension work?
Press the switch on the handlebar. Turn the suspension on to absorb vibration on rough roads, and lock it out on smooth roads so less pedalling effort is absorbed and you accelerate more efficiently, all without stopping.
Does the Dahon Lunden suit riders of different heights?
Yes, it works well for a family. The handlebar height and angle both adjust without extra parts. Dahon Hong Kong does not list a recommended rider height, so tell us your height before ordering and we will help you check.
Is there a 20-inch Dahon Lunden?
Yes. In April 2026 Dahon announced the Lunden GR, a 20-inch tri-fold with 20 x 2.0" tyres and a Shimano 8-speed internal hub (source: Dahon press release). This page is for the 16-inch (349), 7-speed Lunden; contact us if you would like to ask about other versions.
Does the Dahon Lunden come with a kickstand?
No. Dahon Hong Kong states that the Lunden does not include a kickstand; it does come with a rear rack and easy-roll wheels, so you can push it when folded.
