The Dahon Mini 349 40th Anniversary Special Edition is a 16-inch aluminium folding bike that comes with a 349 wheelset and 9-speed disc brakes from the factory, a sibling of the K3 Plus. It keeps the inward-folding, adjustable handlepost of the latest K3 Plus and upgrades to the larger 349 16-inch wheelset, so there is no need to convert the wheels yourself; it also comes with folding pedals.

What Problem Does It Solve?
The K3 Plus is a popular 16-inch folder, but the standard version uses 305 wheels, and many owners later convert to the larger 349 wheelset, which costs extra and depends on fork clearance. The Mini 349 comes with 349 wheels, a longer fork with more tyre clearance so you can fit wider tyres, and keeps the K3 Plus's inward-folding, adjustable handlepost, so it is ready to ride from day one.
Who Is It For?
The Mini 349 suits riders who want a 16-inch, 9-speed disc-brake folder for commuting or weekend rides with a 349 wheelset from the factory, and anyone who likes a special paint scheme or wants a Dahon 40th-anniversary model.
Worth noting: by the folded size, length, width and height add up to about 175 cm, slightly over the MTR's 170 cm luggage limit (see the FAQ). If you want a smaller, lighter bike, compare the 14-inch Dahon K3 14-inch 3-Speed Folding Bike KAA433.
349 wheelset fitted as standard
The Mini 349 upgrades to the larger 349 16-inch wheelset, so no conversion is needed. The fork is longer, leaving more tyre clearance so you can choose wider tyres for a more comfortable ride.
Inward-folding, adjustable handlepost from the K3 Plus
As a sibling of the K3 Plus, the Mini 349 keeps the latest K3 Plus's inward-folding, adjustable handlepost: it folds inward so the bike packs smaller, and its height adjusts for riders of different heights.
40th Anniversary Special Edition graphics
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Dahon added playful graffiti graphics and a 40th-anniversary logo to the Mini 349's frame and rear triangle. Graphics may differ by colour, so contact us for photos of the actual bike before ordering.
9-speed disc brakes and folding pedals
The Mini 349 has 9-speed gearing and disc brakes, and folding pedals that fold away when you store the bike.

FAQ
What is the difference between the Dahon Mini 349 and the K3 Plus?
The main difference is the wheelset. The Mini 349 comes with the larger 349 wheelset, a longer fork and more tyre clearance, while the standard K3 Plus uses 305 wheels. The Mini 349 also keeps the latest K3 Plus's inward-folding, adjustable handlepost and adds the 40th-anniversary graphics. Jollymap's article notes that Dahon's later K3 Plus 349 version grew out of the Mini 349.
How much does the Dahon Mini 349 weigh?
Jollymap's original product data lists 9.82 kg; Dahon's global site lists 10.33 kg for the 2024 Mini 349. The difference may come from model year and specification, so contact us to confirm before ordering.
What does "349" mean?
349 is the ISO rim size: the rim's bead seat diameter is 349 mm, traditionally marked 16 x 1 3/8", the same size used by Brompton and other folders. The 305 rim on the standard K3 Plus is smaller (16 x 1.75" to 16 x 2.125"). So although both are called "16-inch", a 349 wheel has a larger diameter.
Can I take the folded Dahon Mini 349 on the MTR?
By the folded size, it is slightly over the MTR limit. MTR rules say luggage must not exceed 170 cm in length, width and height combined, and the folded Mini 349 measures 73 x 39 x 63 cm, about 175 cm in total. On franchised buses, Regulation 14 of the Public Bus Services Regulations (Cap. 230A) only allows free carriage of items up to 5 kg and 0.1 cubic metres, which a folding bike usually exceeds.
Can I upgrade the Dahon Mini 349?
Yes, but the most common upgrade, a 349 wheelset, is already done. Jollymap's article notes the longer fork leaves more tyre clearance, so you can fit wider tyres. For other parts, contact us first to check compatibility.
What colours does the Dahon Mini 349 come in?
The online shop offers Black and Silver. The 40th Anniversary Special Edition has graffiti graphics and a 40th-anniversary logo on the frame and rear triangle; graphics may differ by colour, so contact us for photos of the actual bike before ordering.
