Why does the Java Neo need a dedicated wheelset?
The Java Neo uses thru-axles front and rear, with 74 mm front spacing, so any replacement wheelset has to match that standard. The Blast Wave wheelset is built to the Neo's 74 mm front / 142 mm rear thru-axle spacing, and retailers state it replaces the stock wheels with no fork spreading or spacers. In our Java Neo 16-inch carbon review (in Chinese), Jollymap estimates that swapping the stock aluminium wheels for ODIN or Blast Wave carbon wheels saves around another 200–300 g.
Who is it for?
This wheelset suits riders who already own a Java Neo 16-inch (349) or 20-inch (406) and want deep-section tri-spoke wheels and a lighter bike; the white version in our shop also suits anyone after a contrasting colour scheme. It is not for: the Java Neo 14-inch (there is no 14-inch version, and the 14-inch rear spacing is 125 mm); or the Java Neo 20-inch 451 drop-bar model (451 wheels, not 406). If weight is your top priority, compare the FEELNEO wheelset below.
40 mm deep tri-spoke design
The rim is 40 mm deep and 25 mm wide on a carbon tri-spoke structure, offered in black or white in our shop to suit different frame colours.
36T star ratchet hub
The hub uses a 36T star ratchet. A Hong Kong retailer states the freehub internals are the same design as DT Swiss, making it easy to upgrade the ratchet tooth count later.
Direct fit on Java Neo thru-axles
74 mm front and 142 mm rear thru-axle spacing to match the Java Neo frame and fork; retailers state no fork spreading or spacers are needed. Rotors, cassette and tyres need to be moved across from your old wheels or bought separately; contact us before ordering to confirm what is in the box.

Jollymap's advice: which wheelset should you choose?
- Looks and rim depth: Blast Wave has a 40 mm rim; of the three wheelsets in our shop, only Blast Wave is offered in white.
- Lowest weight: on published figures, the FEELNEO 349 pair (790 g ±15 g) is the lowest of the three, and it has ceramic bearings.
- Keeping 6-bolt rotors: ODIN uses a 6-bolt mount; FEELNEO uses Center Lock; Blast Wave has not published its mount type. Whether your existing rotors carry over depends on the mount type.
- Planning a SRAM XDR 12-speed cassette: FEELNEO works with the optional FEELNEO XDR Cassette Body for Java Neo wheelset; that freehub is an add-on for the FEELNEO wheelset, and there is no data confirming it fits Blast Wave.
A wheel swap means moving rotors, cassette and tyres across. Not sure which wheelset suits your Neo? Before ordering, chat with us or message our Facebook page with your model, year of purchase and photos of your current rotors and cassette.

FAQ
What is Blast Wave called in Chinese?
Blast Wave's Chinese name is 衝擊波 ("shock wave"); some shops write it as Blastwave, which is the same brand.
How much does the Blast Wave tri-spoke wheelset weigh?
About 1195 g (±20 g) a pair, from Jollymap product data and matching Hong Kong retailer listings; separate 16-inch and 20-inch weights are not published.
Does the Blast Wave wheelset fit the 20-inch Java Neo?
Yes. It comes in 16-inch (349) and 20-inch (406), and the 20-inch version matches the Java Neo 20-inch (406) models; the Java Neo 20-inch 451 drop-bar model uses a different wheel size and does not fit.
Is there a 451 Blast Wave tri-spoke wheelset?
Not on this page. This Java Neo version comes in 349 and 406 only; Blast Wave also makes a 451 tri-spoke wheelset, but it is not this product and we have not confirmed whether it fits the Java Neo 451 drop-bar model. Please contact us if you need one.
Do I need to modify the fork to fit the Blast Wave wheelset?
No. Retailers state it is built to the Neo's 74 mm front / 142 mm rear thru-axle spacing with no fork spreading or spacers. Rotors, cassette and tyres need to be moved across from your old wheels or bought separately. Contact us before ordering to confirm your bike's setup.
Can I keep my original cassette and rotors?
It depends, so please check before ordering. Blast Wave has not published its freehub standard or rotor mount, and Java Neo cassettes vary by model: the 16-inch 9-speed uses 11–32T, the electronic-shift models use a 12-speed 11–40T, and the 20-inch 9-speed now uses a Shimano CUES 9-speed 11–40T. Contact us with your model and photos of your cassette and rotors so we can confirm whether they transfer directly. The FEELNEO XDR Cassette Body for Java Neo wheelset in our shop is an add-on for the FEELNEO wheelset; there is no data on whether it fits the Blast Wave wheelset, so please do not assume it does.
Do I need longer valves for the 40 mm rim?
Possibly. Retailers point out that with a 40 mm deep rim the stock short-valve tubes may be too short, and suggest switching to 60 mm long-valve tubes or fitting a Presta valve adapter for easier pumping.
Which Java Neo tri-spoke wheelset brands are there, and which is best?
No single wheelset suits everyone; it depends on your priority. The three compared on this page are Blast Wave (40 mm rim, black or white in our shop), FEELNEO Ceramic Bearing (lowest published weight, with ceramic bearings) and ODIN (6-bolt rotor mount). See the comparison table above for details.
Specifications and components follow the manufacturer's latest release and may change without notice. If in doubt, please contact us to confirm before ordering.
