Java NEO 20" Folding Bike (Chrome Limited Edition) | 12-Speed Electronic Shift Flagship

A Limited-Edition Finish, Combined with Electronic Shifting and Enhanced Cruising Performance

The Chrome Limited Edition Java NEO 20" (406) is a tri-fold folding bike with an aluminium alloy frame and carbon fibre fork, currently open for preorder with a choice of 12-speed electronic shift or 9-speed mechanical shift. Living in a cozy apartment doesn't mean you have to compromise on your cycling experience — this limited edition is built for urban riders who want riding stability, cruising speed, and a head-turning finish.

The 12-speed version comes standard with the state-of-the-art Wheeltop 12-Speed Electronic Shift system and a carbon fibre handlebar, stem and seatpost; the 9-speed version uses a Shimano CUES 9-speed mechanical drivetrain (11–40T) with an aluminium alloy handlebar, stem and seatpost. The 20-inch (406) wheelset delivers better cornering stability and momentum retention than its 16-inch counterpart, all while keeping a compact folded footprint. Whether you are embarking on a long weekend ride, carrying it onto public transit, or tucking it into a corner at home, the Java NEO makes every journey easier.

Jollymap's Advice

Chrome is a limited colourway; the 12-speed version's frame, fork and wheelset match the Java NEO 20" Electric Shift 12-Speed Folding Bike. This model only comes in one frame size — if you're unsure whether the fit suits your height, please contact us before ordering with your height and inseam length. We also carry the Mr TiParts Carbon Kickstand for Java Neo 20" if you'd like an easier way to park it.

For the same polished silver finish in a smaller fold, see the 16" Java NEO 16" Chrome Limited Edition (12-speed electronic); for the 20" vs 16" differences, read Jollymap's Java Neo 20: What to Know Before You Buy (in Chinese). For a 20" 9-speed carbon fork version in the regular colours, see the Java NEO 20" 9-Speed Carbon Fork Folding Bike (Shimano CUES 9-speed, 11–40T).

FAQ

What's different about the Chrome Limited Edition compared to a regular Java NEO 20"?

Mainly the finish — chrome is a limited colourway. The 12-speed electronic version's frame, fork and wheelset match the Java NEO 20" Electric Shift 12-Speed Folding Bike, with a carbon fibre handlebar, stem and seatpost added; the 9-speed mechanical version uses Shimano CUES 9-speed (11–40T) with an aluminium alloy handlebar, stem and seatpost. At preorder, you can choose between the 12-speed electronic and 9-speed mechanical drivetrain.

Which drivetrain can I choose?

You can choose Wheeltop 12-speed electronic shifting (matching the Java NEO 20" Electric Shift 12-Speed Folding Bike) or Shimano CUES 9-speed mechanical shifting; both use an 11–40T cassette. The 12-speed version has a carbon fibre handlebar, stem and seatpost; the 9-speed version's are aluminium alloy. For the complete weight of either version, please contact us before ordering.

Is the carbon fork durable? Could it crack?

Under normal use (no crashes or impacts), a carbon fork is just as durable as a metal one and dampens vibration better. Keep torque within the manufacturer's limits when servicing, and check for cracks if the fork has taken a hard knock before continuing to ride it.

Can I take it onto the bus or MTR when folded?

MTR requires that the combined length, width and height of hand-carried items does not exceed 170cm, with no single side over 130cm. The Java NEO 20"'s official folded dimensions are about 73 × 32 × 64 cm (excluding pedals, a total of about 169cm) — close to the limit; with pedals it is about 41cm wide (a total of about 178cm), which is over the limit, so remove the quick-release pedal before boarding. For buses, under the Public Bus Services Regulations (Cap. 230A) Section 14, the free baggage allowance is capped at 5kg and 0.1 cubic metres, which the whole bike typically exceeds — whether it's allowed on board depends on the bus company and driver.

Is the chrome finish durable — will it fade?

Chrome is an electroplated finish on the aluminium frame, and everyday use should avoid scratching it with sharp objects. Contact us if you have specific questions about the finish's durability.

Can I ask about modifications or upgrade compatibility before or after preordering?

If you have any questions about the configuration, please contact us before preordering to confirm. Compatibility for modifications or upgrades needs to be checked part by part, so please include the model of the part you'd like to fit when you get in touch.

How is this different from the full-carbon Java NEO Carbon 20" 12-Speed Folding Bike?

The Java NEO Carbon 20" 12-Speed Folding Bike upgrades the frame to carbon fibre as well as the fork, making it a higher-spec option in the range.

Specifications and components follow the manufacturer's latest release and may change without notice. If in doubt, please contact us to confirm before ordering.
